How it works
Four steps, and your team only does the first one
Nobody behind the camera types an email address, so the queue moves at the speed of the photos.

Take the pictures
Your elf shoots on any phone with your branded grotto frame live in the viewfinder, so every shot is framed right first time. Take as many as the family likes.

The family scans their QR code
Tap finish and the phone shows a QR code personal to that family, plus a short backup code. They scan it, and your elf moves straight on to the next family.

Photos land in their inbox
The family types their own name and email and ticks their own consent box. Their framed photos are emailed to them, whether they claim in the grotto or on the drive home.

You get their contact details
Every claim adds a name and email address to your list, given by the family themselves. By January you have a mailing list built from your busiest weeks of the year.

FAQ
Questions grotto teams ask
Do families need to download an app?
No. They point their phone camera at the QR code on screen, a web page opens, they type their name and email, and the photos are sent to them. Nothing to install.
Will it slow down our queue?
No. Your elf takes the photos, shows the family their QR code and moves on to the next family whilst the previous family take their time filling in their email and details. Nobody on your team types an email address, and families can claim their photos immediately or after they have left.
What if a family forgets to scan the code?
Every session also has a short backup code they can type in instead, and codes stay valid for two days, so families can claim at home that evening.
What phones do our staff need?
Any modern smartphone with a camera and a web browser. GrottoSnap runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install on staff phones either.
How does consent work?
Families type their own details and tick their own consent box when they claim their photos. Staff never write down or key in anyone's details.
Can the photos carry our branding?
Yes. Every photo is framed in your grotto's own branded template, which we design for you, so every picture a family shares carries your name.
Can we try it before the season starts?
Yes. From the day you sign up, your team can practise as much as you like until your go live date. Practice photos are marked as practice and are never sent to families, and you can cancel any time before you go live.
